WE'RE SONIC VOLT
The JOLT you need! (TM)
Sonic Volt is a Dallas, TX band delivering electrifying sounds with the grungy intensity of Nirvana and the grit and defiance of punk!
Formed in 2024 by Hope Hendrix (vocals/bass), Sonic Volt regrouped after losing its guitarist and drummer in late 2025. Hope added Evan Whitington (guitar) in September 2025 and Andres Arce (drums) in October 2025, breathing new life and energy into the band. Sonic Volt traveled to Santa Ana, California in February of 2026 to record two singles with David Dominguez (Papa Roach, The Offspring, Weezer, Guns ‘N Roses) at the venerable Maple Sound Studios.
2026 looks bright for Sonic Volt. As mentioned above, the band re-recorded its first single, “Breaking Out”, with David Dominguez. The music video for “Breaking Out” was recorded in Austin, Texas in March 2026 during SXSW 2026 at Shiner’s. The video has been doing very well on YourTube.
Sonic Volt also re-recorded “Secrets” and will release the compelling music video in May of 2026.
With its electrifying live performances and energetic recordings, Sonic Volt is living up to its name by creating the buzz that makes this band one to watch.
Hope recycled a few songs she'd written while in Draven and wrote a few new songs. After less than a year of jamming together, the group played a couple of shows and recorded a ten-track album. As happens, the two guys stepped aside due to family obligations.
Evan Whitington joined Hope in September of 2025, significantly altering the sound of Sonic Volt with his impressive guitar skills guitar and knowledge of music theory. The next month, after Andres Arce responded to a drummer wanted ad in a Facebook group, Sonic Volt became a band to be reckoned with.
Sonic Volt's debut was on December 27, 2025, at The Cicada in Fort Worth. The band followed up its debut with an energetic showcase performance during NAAM 2026 on January 22, 2026 at Stages Bar in Santa Ana, California. Sonic Volt participated in red carpet interviews at the showcase that will be featured on an upcoming AnthemTV show, Backstage with Dilly!
Some of Sonic Volt's influences include Nirvana, Babes in Toyland, L7, At The Drive-In, The Refused, Turbonegro, Turnstile, Amyl and The Sniffers, and The Distillers.
Because Sonic Volt's sound changed significantly due to Evan and Andres joining the band, the group traveled to California in February of 2026 to re-record a couple of tracks -- their first single, "Breaking Out", and their upcoming single, "Secrets". Sonic Volt recorded at Maple Sound Studios in Santa Ana, California with David Dominguez, whose discography includes The Offspring, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit, and Staind. Maple Sound Studios is owned by Cameron Webb, whose discography includes Motorhead, Pennywise, NOFX, and Sum41.
Sonic Volt has some exciting things on the horizon. Their promoter, Curtain Call Promotions, will be submitting "Breaking Out" for the SMR charts in March of 2026.
Sonic Volt will be filming a music video for "Secrets" in March of 2026. "Secrets" will be released in April 2026 to coincide with Childhood Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness month.
Sonic Volt has several performances booked for 2026, including two unofficial showcases during SXSW in March and Rawk The River musical festival in June.
Stay tuned!
